A hand-operated, motor-driven soil tilling implement has a protection tube for a driving shaft and a tool arranged at the end of the protection tube. At the end of the driving shaft can be arranged an angle gear (14), the output shaft of which is provided with a pinion (6) that co-operates with a toothed wheel (7) that is fixedly secured to the driving shaft (8) of the tool. The tool carrier (21) is laterally surrounded by a stop (26). Outwardly open passages are provided between the stop (26) and the tool carrier (21).
