The invention relates to a device for changing the position of the upper securing or deflection point, in particular the deflection fitting of a three-point seat belt with a belt retractor in a two-door motor vehicle without a centre pillar (B-pillar), the device comprising a support which, at its upper end, holds the deflection fitting, is covered in its rest position by an inner side-panel lining and which, in order to reach its variable-height in-use position, can be extended upwards out of the side-panel lining. In the case of a device of this type, in order for the belt latch and the belt webbing to be placed within easy reach, it is proposed that the support be of a shape which, in the direction of travel, is uniformly curved and the deflection fitting be moved on a circular path, and that the support be extended, in the sense of a belt bringer, temporarily before it has reached its in-use position, by moving over the latter into a front position for proffering the belt webbing and the buckle latch.
