In the case of an apparatus for producing an optical cable element (12) in strip form, which has a plurality of optical waveguides (3), running parallel to and at a distance from one another, and at least one film (5) in strip form, running parallel to these optical waveguides (3), the optical waveguides (3) and the film (5) in strip form being held together by an embedding compound (11), for exact parallel arrangement of the individual optical waveguides in the cable element (12) it is proposed to provide a plurality of fibre reels (2), in each case receiving one of the optical waveguides (3) and from which in each case the wound-up optical waveguide (3) can be drawn. In this arrangement there is provided a fibre guide (6), by which the individual optical waveguides (3) drawn off the fibre reels (2) are guided at a distance from one another and parallel to one another. Provided thereafter in line is a guide roller (7), by which the optical waveguides (3) arranged parallel to and at a distance from one another are brought together parallel to and at a distance from one another while feeding in the film (5) in strip form. Provided in line in the transporting direction are a coating device (10) and a curing station (13) for feeding and curing the embedding compound (11). The curing station (13) is followed downstream, if appropriate with at least one deflecting roller (14) interposed, by a drawing-off device (15) for the cable element (12). <IMAGE>
