PURPOSE:To decrease the quantity of data on a communication channel and to shorten the time required for display of a list by handling only the list information that had a change as the differential list information and transmitting this list information between a host and a work station. CONSTITUTION:In a system where a host 100 is connected to a work station 200, an item that had a change in terms of a data base is transferred to the station 200 from the host 100. Then a list file is produced and displayed. Under such conditions, a 1st list producing device 3 retrieves the data base and produces the differential list information by extracting the items where the process time is later than the list production time. Then a 2nd list producing device 6 produces a list file based on the differential list information given from the host 100. Thus, a reponse time is reduced.
