The invention concerns a roller massage device (20) for massaging the skin (94) and the underlying tissue, in particular against cellulite. The device has a roller (24) which is driven by an electric motor (51) to turn in a housing (21) about a central axis (57) and which has means (82), located on its curved surface, for massaging the skin. The invention proposes that the means (82) comprise a multiplicity of strips (82) disposed in longitudinal rows raised above the surface (70) of the roller (24), adjacent strips (82) being located on circular arcs which are essentially concentric with the roller (24) and are inclined at an angle (a) to each other. Thus, when the skin is massaged, it is subjected to alternating tugging and compression between two strips, hence giving a particularly good massaging action. |
