The device is for simulation of an iris, using a membrane for the purpose of a fixture of an intra-ocular lens (2) by folding an iris tissue between the claw arms (3) of the lens. This produces an artificial iris formed as an elastic membrane (4) tensioned in radial directions. The formation of a fold of the material of the membrane and its introduction between the outer ends of the legs appears to be a particularly good measure as it takes place in the same way as the formation of a fold in the surface of a natural iris, together with its introduction between the legs of the lens.
