Pushing transport system for a lifting appliance, such as a lift and the like, which can be moved from a bottom position to a top position and vice versa by means of a drive unit which is able to drive a pusher component in the vicinity of the said bottom position, the pusher component comprising a number of sliding bodies on which the drive unit can act from the side and which, at least over part of a path from engagement to a top position, are accommodated in a slidable manner in a guide housing which has a straight section and a curved section, and the slide bodies are provided, as seen in and perpendicular to the pushing direction, with a leading pushing surface and a parallel, trailing counter-surface, in such a manner that in a straight section in each case a pushing surface and a counter-surface are in surface contact with one another, which surface contact merges, on the active side of the sliding bodies, into a converging widened section, so that the sliding bodies can tilt with respect to one another in the curved section of the guide housing. <IMAGE>
