PURPOSE: To provide a cold reserving chamber for rice equipped with a compressor and a circulating fan which are actuated depending on the temperature detected by a temperature detector, having improved accuracy of humidity control, and accordingly capable of reserving rice at a specified temperature by setting the working time of the circulating fan longer than that of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: This cold reserving chamber for rice is composed of the following members: an inner box for reserving rice; an outer box covering the inner box between which an air circulatory path communicating to the inner box is formed; a circulating fan 26 for circulating air in the air circulatory path; a cooling unit 27 consisting of an evaporator 41 capable of cooling the air circulating through the air circulatory path and a compressor 37 for circulating a cooling medium in a closed circuit including the evaporator 41; a temperature detector for detecting the temperature of the air flowing in the air circulatory path; and a controlling means 51 for performing on-off control of the compressor 37 and the circulation fan 26 depending on the temperature detected by the temperature detector. In the chamber, the working time of the circulating fan 26 is set longer than that of the compressor 37. Further, the difference between the working times is preferably set depending on the humidity in the air circulatory path. |
