<p>PURPOSE: To obtain high-quality coated inorganic powder by coating the surface of particles of an inorganic substance with a reaction product of a specific organosilicon compound and water, excellent in dispersibility in a thick film paste, showing excellent printability and coating performance. CONSTITUTION: This powder is obtained by coating the surface of particles of an inorganic substance (preferably a metal) with a reaction product of an organosilicon compound (e.g. trichloromethylsilane) selected from an organic alkoxysilane, an organic halogenosilane and an organic alkoxyhalogenosilane and water to give the objective powder. The powder is obtained by treating the particles of the inorganic substance with the organosilane compound. The treatment is carried out by making water adsorbed on the surface of the inorganic powder, dispersing the powder in a solution or a dispersion of the organosilane compound in an organic solvent and treating the inorganic powder under reflux at the boiling temperature of the organic solvent. The particle diameter of the inorganic powder is preferably 0.05-5μm.</p> |
