<p>PURPOSE: To display an image on which a caption is superimposed even in specific reproduction. CONSTITUTION: A multiplexed reproducing signal is separated into video data, audio data and caption data by a data decoder and multiplexer 1, and decoded by decoders 3, 7 and 11, respectively. The caption data is the one in which the caption data for regular reproduction and the one for specific reproduction are multiplexed, and either of them is selected corresponding to a reproduction mode by the command of a system controller 14, and it is decoded by a sub-title decoder 7. Decoded caption data is superimposed on the video data, and outputted to a composite encoder 8.</p> |
