<p>To facilitate the creation of an interface between a network control layer and controlled elements in the network, on insertion of a new element to be controlled an intelligent interface creates a compatibility listing between the network control layer and the element manager. The intelligent interface carries out steps of 'look around', 'try and see', 'follow instructions' and 'structured questioning'. Each of these steps, in association with a dictionary of 'comparable information' results in data being added to a knowledge frame which defines the element and its message format handling requirements.</p> |
