PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pulse gas laser which is capable of easily varying pulses in width by tens of ns without changing a discharge circuit and a laser tube. SOLUTION: A cavity damping system of stable resonator structure provided with a reduction optical system is provided to an oscillator to control pulses in width. A multi-path amplifying optical system is provided to an amplifier so as to extract short pulse laser rays efficiently. That is, the oscillator stores laser rays in a stable resonator composed of total reflecting mirrors 8 and 16, and an EO device 14 is switched to chop up a laser beam. The four-path optical system of the amplifier is composed of a polarized beam splitters 29 and 36, a Faraday rotator 30, and total reflection mirrors 37 and 32. By this setup, an oscillator is set variable, and a pulse laser gas device of this constitution can be improved in efficiency matching the pulse width of laser rays with the gain time width of the amplifier. |
