Procedure for changing the charging on a taximeter. Comprises a first stage 2 of entering the charging parameters stored in the memory unit in an external control into the memory unit of the taximeter; a second stage 3 of entering the new charging parameters and the date of implementation of the change in charges in a second memory address in the aforesaid memory unit; a third stage 4 of comparing the date of making the charging change with the actual date supplied by the clock-calendar, and a fourth stage 5 of copying the parameters entered in the second memory address into the first memory address, when the actual date coincides with the date of implementation of the change in charging. This avoids a major loss of time for the taxi driver at the time of implementing the fare changes. <IMAGE>
