The heater has a motor-driven ventilation unit (2) which has a power supply (1) which is switched on by means of a switch (10). The ventilation unit moves the airflow which is heated by a heating element (3). The leakage of the heated air from the heating circuit is screened. The heated air after impinging upon the object which is to be heated in the direct vicinity of the outlet aperture (4a), is fed back into the unit via an inlet aperture (4b). Solid or liquid material which are fed in with the airflow, are removed from the airflow before entering the ventilation and heating unit by means of a special separator (9).
