PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data which display roads and labels with the priority corresponding to the scale of a map display by arraying data on labels to be displayed corresponding to the priority of displays of respective roads corresponding to the scale. SOLUTION: At certain scale level Zi , only a certain specific road Si in the area of a map display M is displayed lightly. This lightness is adjusted according to the road priority level order category corresponding to the scale. The road priority order is determined on the basis of a kind based upon administrative classification, etc., the number of lanes, width, etc. When the scale level Zi is decreased, the area is enlarged and displayed on a monitor screen MS and when the scale level Zn is increased, the area is reduced and displayed. At any scale level Zi , only roads Si with the priority corresponding to the scale level Zi are displayed, so the map M is displayed having its detailedness limited. |
