PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform rapid reading support of a document through extraction and display of an important place. SOLUTION: In this method, the document genre is specified in a document that is read rapidly and a decision tree is selected that corresponds to the genre. On the other hand, characteristics about each sentence are extracted in a text of a given document. The selected decision tree is collated with the characteristics of each sentence to decide whether or not each sentence is a summary sentence. The summary sentence is shown by an emphasis color and non-summary sentence is shown by a background color. Also, a 1st sentence of each paragraph of the given document is shown by a color that is different from the summary sentence. |
