<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical shaft pump which is easily connected to or disconnected from a pump casing of an impeller and hard to destroy microorganism carrier in an active sludge. SOLUTION: A pump casing provided with an impeller 10 and a discharge casing connected to the pump casing have cylindrical shape of same diameter. A main shaft 8 is downwardly and vertically extended from a motor 6 provided at an upper part of the discharge casing, the impeller 10 is fixed to a lower end of the main shaft 8, and a guide vane 13 is fixed to a protecting tube 11 of the main shaft 8 connected to a frame 7 of the motor 6. When the frame 7 of the motor 6 is disconnected from the discharge casing, the impeller 10 and the guide vane 13 can be pulled out from the pump casing together with the motor 6, which can facilitate disconnection or connection, whereby the maintenance can be performed easily. By providing a circular cylinder and a seal ring 14 separately in an end outer periphery of the impeller 10 and the guide vane 13, an entry of a foreign material between the guide vane 13 and a pump casing, and destruction of a microorganism carrier in an active sludge by the impeller 10 can be reduced.</p> |
