PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the picture quality of the boundary part of a synthesis picture by synthesizing texture signals between a picture element to be processed and a corresponding picture element in a second picture space corresponding to it based on the synthesis ratio of the texture signal of the picture element to be processed and generating a synthesis picture signal forming a third picture space. SOLUTION: When a form signal is inputted from an input terminal 2100a, a boundary position judgment means 2104 judges the boundary position of an object. In the case of the picture element of the boundary position, a synthesis ratio generation means 2106 calculates the synthesis ratio of the picture to be processed. A picture synthesis means 2110 obtains texture data of a synthesis picture by using texture data of a foreground picture being a processing object inputted from a second input terminal 2102, background picture texture data inputted from a third input terminal 2116 and the synthesis ratio calculated by the synthesis ratio generation means 2106. Switches 2122 and 2124 change over a picture element synthesis means 2112 near a boundary and a picture element synthesis means 2114 in the boundary.
