<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of improving work efficiency by realizing output of image data to an external printing device by effectively using an image read part even when the printing operation of the image data is being performed by using an internal printing device. <P>SOLUTION: When an instruction to read the image data to be printed by using the external printing device such as printing devices 1 and 2 or a stencil printer is received while the image data are being printed by using an image output part 4, a control unit 5 stops the operation of the image output part 4 and starts an operation of reading the image data by using a scanner 3. Also, when the operation of reading the image data is completed, the control unit 5 restarts the operation of the image output part 4 and outputs the read image data to the external printing device. Thus, since it is possible to perform a job for reading the image data without being affected by vibrations due to the operation of printing the image data, the scanner 3 can be used effectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
