PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat resistant coated optical fiber which has a high heat resistance characteristic and a transmission characteristic stable for a long period of time without an increase and fluctuation in transmission loss even in the environment where the temperature change is large, has excellent mechanical strength and is formable to have a smaller diameter. SOLUTION: This heat resistant coated optical fiber 1 comprises an optical fiber 2, a first coating layer 3 which consists of a thermosetting type silicone rubber disposed on the outer periphery of the optical fiber 2 and a second coating layer 4 which is disposed on the outer periphery of the first coating layer 3 and consists of a wound layer of a heat resistant plastic film having a heat resistance temperature of at least 120 deg.C provided with a thermoplastic heat resistant adhesive layer 4A on the inner layer surface side.
