摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve accurate, reliable shear test with simple and inexpensive configuration by connecting a force application mechanism for applying force to a body to be tested only in a shear direction to a counterforce mechanism so that it can travel freely and restricting displacement in a direction other than the shear direction with a guide means. SOLUTION: When a force application beam 17 is moved in a horizontal direction (arrow direction) by a horizontal actuator 15, and for example sinusoidal application force or force being similar to the move of an earthquake is applied, a counterforce tool 13 where the lower part of a body S to be tested is fixed is placed on a trestle 11 so that it becomes an immobile point. Also, since the upper portion of the body S to be tested is fixed to the force application beam 17, it is subjected to force in a horizontal direction, thus resulting shear deformation. In this case, since only an extremely small friction force is generated in a horizontal direction at a guide part 16 consisting of a guide rail 16a and a ball bearing 16b, the generation of secondary deformation such as bending deformation and axial deformation, twisting deformation, and deformation in the direction of the outside of surface can be suppressed securely, thus applying force only in the shear direction to the body S to be tested.
