PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope without any degradation of the cautery efficiency thereof when the endoscope is used in combination with a high frequency endo-therapy accessory. SOLUTION: In this endoscope 1 having a long insertion part 2 having a hard part which is inserted in a body cavity, an operation part 3 provided on a base end side of the insertion part 2, and a channel 30 for passing the accessory inside the insertion part 2, at least an outer surface of the insertion part 2 over the entire length is covered by an electrically insulating material.
