PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal member for building, which can be produced at a low cost, and positively bears a load applied from above. SOLUTION: A longitudinal casing member 11 has a notch 18 formed in a lower surface at an end 111 thereof, and the member 11 is borne by a first- story wall panel 2 by engaging the notch 18 with the first-story panel 2 of a building. According to the thus formed longitudinal casing member 11, a reinforcing plywood 9 for reinforcing a corner portion 18a of the notch 18 is arranged in the vicinity of the notch 18.
