PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convergence correction device and a convergence correction method that can attain high-speed interpolation arithmetic operations with a reduced memory capacity and interpolate data with natural smoothness so as to much more reduce mis-convergence. SOLUTION: The convergence correction device is provided with an initial value memory 1 that stores a correction data initial value at an upper position of an image by each horizontal position, the 1st derivation memory 2 that stores the first derivation of correction data at a head scanning line position for each vertical division period by each horizontal position, the 2nd derivation memory 3 that stores the second derivation of the correction data at the head scanning line position for each vertical division period by each horizontal position, a 1st accumulator section 6 that accumulates values of the 2nd derivation memory 3, a 2nd accumulator section 7 that accumulates data from the 1st accumulator section 6, and drive circuits 15a-15d that receive analog signal data outputted from a digital/analog converter 14 receiving data from the 2nd accumulator section 7 and apply power to correction coils.
