<p>A transceiver module (10) is configured for insertion within a cage (12). The cage (12) has a cage latch (16) that retains the transceiver module (10) in the cage (12). The transceiver module (10) has a housing (22) configured to receive any one of at least two different release mechanisms such as a release handle (27) or a separate tool (60). Each of the release mechanisms is movable between a first position and a second position, wherein the cage latch (16) is not deflected when the release mechanism is in the first position, and wherein the cage latch (16) is deflected when the release mechanism is in the second position such that the transceiver module (10) can be removed from the cage (12). <IMAGE></p> |
