A liquid crystal display and an apparatus and a method for driving the same are provided to improve image quality by changing the voltage difference between first and second common voltages. A liquid crystal display panel(100) includes a plurality of pixels. Each of the pixels includes a transmission part(Pt) and a reflection part(Pr). The transmission part includes a first switching element(TFTt) connected to a first gate line and a first liquid crystal capacitor connected to the first switching element. The reflection part includes a second switching element(TFTr) connected to the second gate line and a second liquid crystal capacitor connected to the second switching element. A driving unit(200) applies a first common voltage to the first liquid crystal capacitor when the first switching element is turned on. The driving unit applies a second common voltage to the second liquid crystal capacitor when the first switching element is turned off and the second switching element is turned on.
