<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a search system possible to be used in the home and always capable of easily searching a target book (an object to be arranged) even after a long time storage, and to provide a portable telephone and a program to be installed in the said portable telephone. <P>SOLUTION: In this search system, when the portable telephone guides an IC tag fitted to a book, power is generated in the IC tag, and identification information for identifying the book is transmitted by using the generated power. With this structure, the identification information can always be transmitted from the IC tag. In this search system, virtual books 80 are displayed on a main display part 52a in order of the identification information received by the portable telephone, and book title 82 of each of the virtual books 80 are displayed.
