<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the belt tension of a belt-pulley mechanism, and to improve the durability of the belt and the engine fuel consumption in an auxiliary machinery drive unit which carries out the engine drive of a plurality of pieces of auxiliary machinery including a generator through the common belt-pulley mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A required drive torque of a pump 13 for power steering is computed from the detection value of a hydraulic sensor 32.
