PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guiding device for an elevator capable of changing a sentence for announcement easily. SOLUTION: This guiding device for the elevator is provided with a guide announcing device for announcing guide for passengers by utilizing voice and at least either of a fire emergency operation device and an earthquake emergency operation device. This guiding device is also provided with a sentence storing device 4 for storing the sentences required for announcement as the sentences divided into a plurality of short sentences, an announcement sentence preparing device 3 for preparing one announcement sentence by combining the plurality of short sentences stored in the sentence storing device 4, and an obstacle detector for detecting the presence or absence of obstacle on an evacuation route at each floor. When a function of any emergency operation device operates and the car stops at an optional story, this guiding device selects a plurality of short sentences from the sentence storing device 4, combines them, and prepares the announcement sentence based on the information about car stop floor and the information about the presence or absence of obstacle on the evacuation route in the car stop floor to announce the guide.
