An image forming apparatus is provided to improve inner space efficiency by shortening paper transfer distance for side alignment of paper passing through a double surface print path. An image forming apparatus(100) comprises a first guide plate(1511), a subassembly, a movement guide unit of the subassembly, and a drive unit of the subassembly. The first guide plate supports any one surface of a print paper, and guides the print paper to an image forming unit(130). The subassembly is arranged along a moving direction from one surface of the print paper, and has a side surface guide as a side surface alignment standard of the print paper. The movement guide unit of the subassembly supports the subassembly so that the subassembly is moved in a direction crossing to a transfer direction of the print paper. The drive unit of the subassembly drives the subassembly.
