PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back projection type projector device which adjusts brightness to be constant at any time without being influenced by a video signal, and also adjusts color with easy operation without being influenced by external environment. SOLUTION: Light emitted from a light source 12 is selectively made to pass through a color filter as red light, green light and blue light, and is changed to parallel beams by a light tunnel 14. A light valve 20 modulates and controls the light from the light tunnel 14, and a projected light control part 22 controls the light valve 20 on the basis of a video signal. A light quantity detection part 23 detects the quantity of light transmitted to the outside of an optical path between the light tunnel 14 and the light valve 20 in the optical path, and a light quantity adjusting part 24 adjusts the quantity of the light projected to a screen on the basis of the quantity of the light detected by the light quantity detection part 23.
