PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a urinal apparatus provided with a high-frequency sensor of which the transmittance through a dielectric is improved and which accurately radiates a radio beam toward a substance to be detected. SOLUTION: The urinal apparatus is provided with a urinal body; the high-frequency sensor for radiating a radio beam which transmits through the upper surface of the urinal body, receiving reflected waves from the substance to be detected, and generating detection signals; and a valve for discharging or stopping cleaning water to the urinal body by the detection signals. A plane including the upper surface of the urinal body and a plane including the radiative surface of an antenna of the high-frequency sensor intersect with each other on a cross line at an angle greater than 0°and smaller than 90°. The cross line is approximately in parallel with the side-to-side direction of a urinal. The direction of the excitation of the radio beam intersects with the cross line in such a way that the intensity of the radio beam which transmits through the urinal body may be greater than the intensity of the radio beam reflected at the upper surface.
