PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer having a conveyance mechanism which performs feeding and ejection of paper as a printing medium are performed, and can suitably control the conveyance mechanism when abnormality is caused in a paper conveyance process. SOLUTION: In the printer having: the conveyance mechanism performing the conveyance of the paper as the printing medium; and a control means for the conveyance mechanism, the control means starts the driving control of the conveyance mechanism on the basis of a batch command about the paper ejection operation of preceding paper which has been printed, the feeding operation of following paper as the paper next to the preceding paper and a head part searching operation to a printing start position, and thereafter, when it is decided that an error in the conveyance of the paper is caused, performs control so that the conveyance mechanism is stopped without obeying the batch command.
