PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a coated paper having little waving on the white paper surface in the method for producing the coated paper by using a coated paper-producing apparatus equipped with an on-machine coater and a finishing installation, and continuously carrying out a series of steps of forming a wet paper by combining a gap former with at least one shoe press for carrying out the dehydration by felt belt, drying the wet paper by a dryer part, coating a coating material at least on one surface of a web after drying the wet paper by the coater and drying the coated product, and carrying out smoothening finishing. SOLUTION: The method for producing the coated paper includes using a paper stock containing a pulp, a filler and a paper-strengthening agent as essential components and free from internally filled sizing agent and making the paper without externally adding the paper-strengthening agent.
