<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform a function enhancement without performing a special processing in a printer device. <P>SOLUTION: When power supply of the printer device is inputted (S1), it is confirmed whether or not DIMM is mounted on a DIMM slot or not (S2). When the DIMM is mounted (Yes in processing S2), the program or font data stored in the DIMM mounted on the DIMM slot is confirmed by a recognition means (S3). When it is determined that the program or font data are not regularly formed by the confirmation of the DIMM (NG in processing S3), an error display is performed to stop the starting (S4). When the program or font data are determined to be regular and usable by the confirmation of the DIMM (OK in processing S3), DIMM mounting information of the program or font data stored in the DIMM is acquired and retained (S5) to perform the starting processing of the printer (S6).
