The present invention provides a headlight having a light source integrated with a high beam and a low beam, which comprises: a light source unit projecting a first beam with a linear polarization characteristic; a first optical unit outputting a second beam with a circular polarization or an elliptical polarization characteristic if the first beam is input; a second optical unit transmitting the first beam directly incident from the light source unit to output the first beam on the first path, and separating a second beam incident via the first optical unit to transmit a first component for outputting the first component on the first path and to reflect a second component for outputting the second component on a second path; a first optical outputting unit outputting a beam, received via the first path, to the outside; a second optical outputting unit outputting a beam, received via the second path, to the outside; and a control unit controlling the amount of light projected by the light source unit according to the downward mode or the upward mode and selectively arranging the first optical unit on optical paths of the light source unit and the second optical unit to control beam output of the first optical outputting unit and the second optical outputting unit. The present invention changes a linearly polarized beam projected from one light source into a circularly polarized or an elliptically polarized beam and outputs the beam on one or two paths according to the upward mode or the downward mode to selectively operate the high beam or the low beam. |
