1. An assay method for the detection of an analyte, said method comprising:
providing a plurality of probes, said probes comprising metal nanoparticles; contacting a sample solution suspected of including at least one analyte with said plurality of probes to form an assay solution, wherein in a presence of said analyte, a portion of said probes in said assay solution become aggregated nanoparticles; directing light toward said assay solution; and obtaining DLS data from said assay solution using dynamic light scattering, wherein said DLS data indicates a change in average particle size and/or a change in particle size distribution when said analyte is present in said solution. |
