There is provided a cogging torque measuring apparatus including a drive mechanism for rotatively driving an output shaft of a motor without energizing the motor, a rotation angle detector for detecting an angle of rotation of the motor, an angular acceleration calculating unit for calculating an angular acceleration from the angle of rotation, a torque calculating unit for converting the angular acceleration into a torque, and a signal processing unit for calculating, based on the angle of rotation detected by the rotation angle detector and the torque calculated in the torque calculating unit, a waveform of a cogging torque for the angle of rotation.

1. A cogging torque measuring apparatus for measuring a cogging torque of a motor, comprising:
a drive mechanism that rotatively drives an output shaft of the motor without energizing the motor; a rotation angle detector that detects an angle of rotation of the motor; an angular acceleration calculating unit that second order differentiates the angle of rotation to calculate an angular acceleration; a torque calculating unit that multiplies the angular acceleration by a moment of inertia of a rotor in the motor to calculate a torque, and a signal processing unit that calculates, based on both the angle of rotation detected by the rotation angle detector and the torque calculated by the torque calculating unit, a waveform of a cogging torque for the angle of rotation.
