Disclosed is a receptacle connector having improved shielding performance in the present invention. The receptacle connector according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a receptacle contact which is formed on a place corresponding to a plug contact of a plug connector and provides an electric contact part; a receptacle insulator holding the receptacle contact; a receptacle shell which covers and shields the receptacle insulator, and contains a slot which is formed on one side of an upper part of a back surface where the receptacle insulator is inserted in a direction where terminals of the receptacle contact are successively arranged; and a cover shell which prevents leak of internal signals and absorption of electromagnetic wave from the outside by being combined with the external side of the receptacle shell and shielding. The cover shell comprises a second shielding unit which covers the back surface of the receptacle shell by bending one side with a plate shape. The second shielding unit comprises one or more protrusion units protruded in an external direction in contact with the receptacle shell in order to fix the second shielding unit when the second shielding unit is inserted and penetrated into the slot.
