A counterweight device for use in a saber saw, including a drive, a reciprocating rod and at least a first articulated rod, whereby the counterweight device can be moved reversibly by the drive in a first pendulum motion and a second pendulum motion. The first pendulum motion of the counterweight device runs essentially opposite to a first pendulum motion of the articulated rod, and the second pendulum motion of the counterweight device runs essentially opposite to a second pendulum motion of the articulated rod. |
