A carrier 10 for a breaker including metal cords or filaments comprises arms 20 pivotally mounted around the circumference of a ring (15, 16) (Fig. 4, not shown) and each bearing adjacent one end a magnetic plate 22 and at the other end a pulley 27. When a yoke 31 carrying two pulleys 32 is urged by an hydraulic piston and cylinder 29 on to an endless belt 28 passed round all the pulleys 27, the arms are pivoted as at 19 to release a breaker deposited by the carrier on to a tyre carcass. The ring (15, 16) is itself rotatably mounted within an annular support 12. The arms are radially adjustable to accommodate various breaker sizes. Recesses 23 in the arms facilitate centring of the breaker.</p> |
