METHOD OF ASSEMBLING CATALYST REFORMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assemble a catalyst reformer by mounting a catalyst-mat winding into a metal case in a well assembled manner using a holding mat formed of inorganic fibers only, not including an organic binder.

SOLUTION: The catalyst-mat winding 5 has a honeycomb ceramic catalyst 1, the holding mat 2 wound on the outer periphery of the catalyst 1 and a holding layer 4 encircling the outer periphery of the mat 2 with the mat 2 being adhered to the outer periphery face of the catalyst 1. It is mounted on the metal case 3 to assemble the catalyst reformer. The holding mat 2 being compressed is wound on the honeycomb ceramic catalyst 1 until the mat 2 is adhered to the outer periphery face of the catalyst 1 at a uniform pressure of 0.5kg/cm2or higher. Then, it is mounted on the metal case 3.
