<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for efficiently storing an electric power in a capacitor, related to a power supply unit comprising a fuel cell and a capacitor. <P>SOLUTION: If a motor 32 generates electricity in a normal operation mode in which a switch 20 is closed, the switch 20 is opened to shift into an intermittent operation mode. As a result, the electricity generated by the motor 32 is stored in a capacitor 24. Meantime, the electricity of a fuel cell system 22 is not supplied to the capacitor 24. Thus, the electricity generated by the motor 32 is efficiently stored in the capacitor 24. If, in the normal operation mode, the motor 32 consumes electricity and the voltage of the capacitor 24 is higher than a second reference voltage, the switch 20 is opened, with the fuel cell system 22 made into a standby state, to shift into the intermittent operation mode, as the power generation efficiency of the fuel cell system 22 is low in the region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
