A powdered or granular cleaning composition for use in toilet bowls comprises at least one acid-stable oxygen bleach, at least one watersoluble inorganic chloride and at least one watersoluble inorganic bisulphate, additional to any bisulphate which may be present in the acidstable oxygen bleach. The bleach may be potassium monopersulphate (oxone) which also contains K 2 SO 4 and KHSO 4 . The chloride may be KCl or NaCl. The bisulphate is preferably sodium bisulphate. Optional additions are (a) a condensed phosphate salt, e.g. sodium or potassium pyrophosphate or tripolyphosphate; (b) an alkali metal bicarbonate to provide an effervescent composition; (c) antidusting aid, e.g. a liquid synthetic detergent; (d) anti-caking aid, e.g. calcium silicate; and (e) perfume.
