Laminated grp shell funeral monuments

Synthetic funeral monuments, esp. vault-like structures, made from shaped laminates of thermosetting resin (polyester) cast in a mould lined with (preformed) rigid, weather-resistant covers, e.g. a glass fibric reinforced thermosetting material. Pref. the structure incorporates stiffening ribs which are not filled with cast resin (but may be reinforced with wood) and which may be drilled to accept lifting tackle for removing the component from the mould and/or erecting subsequent structures. Hollow, laminated construction with a reinforced shell avoids sink associated with casting of thick section, solid components and splitting or chipping damage of thin section unsupported polyester castings.
