Bonding of polyolefins with metals

Polyolefins, pref. high or low-density polyethylene, polypropylene, polybutadiene and their derivatives and mixtures are bonded with metals, particularly aluminium, in the presence of adhesive agent of general formula:- (where X is where R1 and R2 are alkyl or aralkyl, R3 alkyl or aryl, and n is 1-4). Quantities of 0.1-10% by wt. (pref. 0.5-3%) are added to be polyolefins, in powder, solution, or applied to be solid surface. - The bonding process may be carried out through pressing sintering, flame spraying, extrusion, etc., at temp. if 160-300 degrees C (pref. 180-220 degrees C).
