1,201,003. Silver halide colour photographic material. AGFA-GEVAERT A.G. Dec.16, 1968 [Dec.21, 1967], No.59648/68. Heading G2C. [Also in Division C4] A light-sensitive photographic material contains at least one silver halide emulsion layer which contains a coloured cyan-forming coupler of the following formula:- wherein R 1 is a carboxyl or sulpho group; R 2 is a hydrogen atom or an acylamino group; R 3 is a hydrogen or halogen atom, and if R 2 is an acylamino group, then R 3 is a hydrogen atom; R 4 is a hydrogen or halogen atom, and must be a halogen atom if R 2 is a hydrogen atom; X is an alkoxy group with up to 20 carbon atoms, a phenylthio group or an amino group; and Y is a hydrogen atom, or a carboxyl, sulpho or a mono- or dialkylsulphamyl group. Many examples of such couplers are given. R 2 is preferably an acylamino group the acyl group of which is derived from an aliphatic carboxylic acid having up to 6 carbon atoms. X may represent a dialkylamino group. The coloured colour couplers defined above act as built-in red masks and provide the required absorption properties and behaviour during coupling. |
