The coupling arm attachment is for a rail vehicle coupler buffer. The vehicle has front and rear spring plates supported on the chassis with a spring between. The arm has a vertical bolt acting via a member to transmit the haulage forces, with springs at both ends of the bolt acting in its long direction towards the front spring plate. The springs bear against the plate via rear spring holding pots sliding in grooves, and against non-rotary front abutments on the bolt. The abutments consist of front spring holding pots (11) and, together with the rear ones (13), are in the form of flattened cylinders with two parallel faces. Their thickness between the parallel faces is less than 0.7 times the cylinder dia. The front pots are supported via lugs on the bearing for the bolt (7), and are slightly clear of it when not locked.PS. |
