A developer for the wet development of latent electrostatic images contains a colouring agent in an aqueous crrier liquid; at least one component of the coluring agent is a compound of a polymer and a dye which is obtained by chemically bonding the dye to the polymer. The surface tension of the developer can be regulated without the addition of other components; excellent selective adhesion of the colouring agent to a recording material is obtained. The final image has good resistance to chemicals and to light. |
