In a modification of the pilot operated automatic volume control system described in parent Specification in which adjacent repeaters have different pilot frequencies, the pilot frequencies of adjacent sections, instead of being in arithmetic progression (i.e. with a common difference), are offset by a fixed amount on either side of the common difference. For example different frequencies, instead of all being 1000 Hz, are 1100, 900, 1100, 900 Hertz &c. Improved control is obtained because harmonics are less disturbing: |
